Every four years the entire world becomes enamoured with the Summer Olympics and no event caught focus such as the 100-meter dashboard. That will be no different this season once the world gathers in Rio de Janeiro along with the world watches, with baited breath, the most entertaining 10 seconds in sport.
Unsurprisingly Usain Bolt is your odds-on preferred to take the gold medal at case in Rio. Bolt won the gold in Bejing (2008) and London (2012) while submitting the only two times under 9.70 ever at the Olympic games. Though Bolt doesn’t run as several international races as his counterparts, the Jamaican has won every significant 100M gold trophy since he started running the event in 2008.
To be able to win his third party 100M Olympic gold medal, Bolt will need to top long time rival Justin Gatlin. The American-born sprinter has been posting the fastest times in the world, as Gatlin has six of the top seven occasions in the 100M because the start of 2015.
Another runner is Yohan Blake. The Jamaican finished second in the 100M dash at the London Olympics and is a training partner of Bolt’s. It’s also fascinating to note that at age 26, Blake represents one of the youngest competitors with Olympic experience within the specialty.
